All Candidates Meeting, Women Inspiring Women, Women’s Institute Branch
Oct 9 @ 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm

From: Marilyn E Sewell <marilynsewell99@gmail.com>
Subject: Invitation to an All Candidates Meeting prior to fall electionBrantford Brant

Hello all

I’m the volunteer coordinator for the Women Inspiring Women Women’s Institute Branch. Our organization is based in the Paris area and our members are women in all ages and stages of life who have a common goal of empowerment for women and betterment of our community. Our group is only 4 years old but the Federated Women’s Institute of Ontario has been active in Ontario for decades.

Last spring we hosted a very successful and well attended all candidates meeting for the provincial election and we want to do this for the upcoming federal election for the Brantford Brant Riding. We moderated the meeting and questions were directed through our MC to the candidates.

The format of the meeting is the standard introductory remarks, moderated questions, final remarks. Our experience tells us that 90 minutes total is all that an audience can manage.

We will be hosting the meeting at the Bethel Community Hall on Bethel Road. We’re happy to share that the Brant County Federation of Agriculture is a now a co-sponsor of this event! Look forward to the days ahead.

Also our website can give you additional information about our group and I would be happy to speak to you anytime. http://www.womeninspiringwomenwi.ca

Thanks,

Marilyn Sewell

Brant Green Drinks
Oct 13 @ 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm

This is not a Green Party event, but should be of interest to everyone who is concerned about the environment and our survival.

Brant Green Drinks on the 13th day of each month

Who: people like you who are interested in environmental issues, making a difference, networking, or just plain having a good time with friends and neighbours!

What: good drinks, good people, good times!

Why: good drinks, good people, good times!

Agenda: good drinks, good people, good times!

Brant Green Drinks is the Brantford/Brant chapter of an organic, self-organizing, international network of environmentally conscious, lively people, like yourself, from all walks of life.

There is no formal agenda for our gatherings, just good drinks, good people, and good times. Come out and you’ll be made welcome. Just say, “are you green?” and we will look after you and introduce you to whoever is there.

Green Drinks is a great way of catching up with people you know and also for meeting new friends and making business contacts. Everyone invites someone else along, so there’s always a different crowd. The gatherings are very simple and unstructured, but many people have found employment, made friends, developed new ideas, done deals and had moments of serendipity.

So, come along, bring a friend, we’re looking forward to meeting you!
