Only Canadian citizens or permanent residents may make political contributions.

Tax Credits

Canadians with taxable income will receive generous tax credits when they donate to the Green Party of Canada. The size of your reduction in taxes payable depends on the sum of all your political contributions. Donate to Bob Jonkman's Campaign - Donation of $50 - Tax Credit $37.50 - Actual Cost $12.50 ; - Donation of $100 - Tax Credit $75 - Actual Cost $25; - Donation of 400 - Tax Credit $300 - Actual Cost $100; - Donation of $1,000 - Tax Credit $558 - Actual Cost $442;- Donation of $1,600 - Tax Credit $650 - Actual Cost $950

Donation Limits

at the national level:

You may donate any amount up to $1,600 in any calendar year to the Green Party of Canada.
at the local level:

$1,600 is the maximum you can donate in any calendar year to the combined entities of the Brantford—Brant EDA’s (Electoral District Association) and the Bob Jonkman GPC campaign.

If you have already made a contribution this year, it is important to calculate your cumulative tax credit.

You’ll get a 75% refund on donations up to $400
You’ll get a tax credit of $300 plus 50% cent on donations between $400 and $750
With a donation between $750 and $1,600 your tax credit will be $475 plus 33⅓% of the amount over $750 up to a maximum of $650 per year.
